Shanghai International Shipping Institute (SISI) released China Shipping Prosperity Report for Q1 2020 on March 31, 2020. According to the report, the COVID-19 epidemic has dealt a heavy blow to country’s shipping enterprises with China Shipping Prosperity Index dropping to 62.95 points in the stagnant interval, and China Shipping Confidence Index recording mere 39.05 points in the moderately stagnant interval. China Shipping Prosperity Index and China Shipping Confidence Index both hit historical lows, implying Chinese shipping industry's fall into stagnation again.
