SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday rose 1.4 per cent to US$1,100 per TEU.
Asia-Mediterranean rates rose 1.7 per cent to $1,261 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Rates from Shanghai to US west coast rose 3.2 per cent to $3,813 per FEU while rates to the east coast decreased 0.1 per cent to $4,625 per FEU.
