THE Mediterranean Shipping Co (MSC) will levy a bunker recovery charge on a raft of trades starting December 1.
At US, Mexican and Canadian ports the charge will be US$195 per TEU dry and $345 per TEU reefer.
From all US ports to those in Chile. Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and Bolivia, the charged will be $156 per TEU and $312 per FEU dry, and $234 per TEU reefer and $468 per FEU reefer.
Charges applicable for Australia, New Zealand, Noumea & Bell Bay to US effective December 1 will be:
Dry cargo to US and Canada west coast $283 per TEU dry and $424 per TEU reefer to US and Canada west coast.
Dry cargo to US and Canada west coast and Gulf Coast $277 per TEU dry and $416 per TEU reefer to US and Canada west coast.
