Kunming separates cargo and passenger traffic for subway project
Date:2010-10-25 Readers:

The south western city of Kunming is separating cargo and passenger traffic from early October on in order to secure smoothness during the city's subway construction project.
Xinhua's report said the Kunming's urban traffic pressure has been sharply increased since the subway construction project, causing congestion and more accidents. The local authority decided to separate cargo and passenger traffic flow by different time and places.
There will be a break-in period from October 9 to November 8, when the traffic police will guide and give publicity material to the truck drivers violating the new regulation. After this period, the traffic authority will start applying strict measures for violators.
