SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday fell 2.7 per cent to US$3,169 per TEU.
Asia-Mediterranean rates increased 2.8 per cent at $3,337 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Rates from Shanghai to US west coast were up 31.9 per cent to $4,088 per FEU while China-US east coast rates increased 1.04 per cent to $4,679 per FEU.
