Date:2021-10-08 Readers:
THE World Maritime Merchants Forum will hold its inaugural meeting on October 20 at the Ocean Park Marriotte Hotel on Hong Kong Island southern coast at 180 Wong Chuk Hang Rd, Wong Chuk Hang.

Organised by the China Merchants Group (CMG) and the forum is sponsored by the Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO), the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) as well as the Hong Kong Shipowners Association (HKSOA).

The theme of the forum is "Leading the Trend". Distinguished delegates can choose to join the forum on-site or online, say organisers.

Leaders and representatives from a wide spectrum of the industry, including shipowners, port operators, logistics service providers, cargo owners, ship builders, financial institutions, marine service agencies, and regulatory authorities, are invited to engage in in-depth discussions.

Key topics will be anti-globalization trends, trading pattern changes, de-carbonization, technology upgrading and reforms and regulation, especially the Covid-19 impact on the industry.

The forum is co-organized by The Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association (HKCEA) and the Hong Kong Shipping Circles Association Limited, and the China Merchants Energy Shipping Co Ltd (CMES).
