Rapidly growing 3PL Momentum Logistics, part of the Sharjah-based Gulftainer Group, continued to expand its activities throughout the UAE and the region.
Established in late 2008, Momentum continues to see steady growth in all sectors, the company said in a statement.
Last year saw the 3PL opening several new offices in the Middle East, most significantly in Iraq, and expanding its activities with its partners in Turkey and Pakistan.
“We were pleased with our results in 2010, despite the challenging nature of the business environment,” said Momentum spokesman Joshua Baker.
“Our overall freight forwarding activity tripled from 2009 to 2010 with particular growth in airfreight, and our container repair and cleaning activity expanded by around 50 percent last year. The other business divisions – logistics cities and transportation – also performed extremely well.
“With our expanding activities and the improving business climate we are expecting a bumper year for Momentum in 2011,” he added.
Momentum Logistics operates one of the largest trucking operations in the region, as well as a vehicle maintenance and repair facility within the Sharjah Inland Container Depot (SICD).
SICD also boasts a container repair depot as well as 35 warehouses. Work has also now been completed on the perimeter road network at Momentum’s International Logistics City site in Al Saja’a, Sharjah.
