WAN MIN is now chairman of the largest shipping company in the world, China Cosco Shipping Corporation Limited, reports Jacksonville's Container News.
The Chinese shipping giant has appointed Mr Wan as the new company's chairman, replacing Capt Xu Lirong, who reaches the mandated retirement age of 65 for leaders of Chinese state-run entities.
Captain Xu also stepped down as chairman and Communist Party secretary at Cosco Shipping after six years in charge.
The decision was announced on November 1 during the general meeting of the company for management personnel.
Cosco said that procedures will follow to implement this change in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations.
