Date:2021-11-26 Readers:
RUSSIA's FESCO Transportation Group and state officials have discussed an investment project to build a transport and logistics centre in the Zabaikalsk border crossing checkpoint on the Russian-Chinese border, reports St Petersburg's SeaNews.

The project envisages building a 450,000 TEU per annum container terminal, customs bonded warehouses, railway and other infrastructure. An option to develop an industrial park is also being considered.

The estimated project cost is about RUB4 billion (US$56.6 million). It is expected to create some 300 new jobs.

FESCO already operates dry ports in Novosibirsk, Khabarovsk and Tomsk.
