Hong Kong container volume rises slightly to 1.532m TEU in November

THE Port of Hong Kong saw container throughput edge up 0.2 per cent in November to 1.532 million TEU compared to the same month last year when the port handled a total of 1.529 million TEU.

Kwai Tsing terminals handled a total of 1.257 million TEU in November, an increase of 2.1 per cent from the corresponding month in 2020 when box throughput totalled 1.231 million TEU.

Container throughput at non-Kwai Tsing terminals totalled 275,000 TEU last month, 7.7 per cent down from 298,000 TEU in November 2020.

In the first eleven months of the year, the port handled a total of 16.279 million TEU, 0.3 per cent down from the corresponding period last year.
