CONTAINERSHIP 1,084-TEU Nordic Italia struck Polish fishing boat DZI 18 early in the morning September 30, thirty nautical miles north east of Swinoujscie, Poland, while enroute to Helsinki, reports Rostock's FleetMon.
Containership dragged fishing boat in her bow for about an hour, until finally, ship's watch spotted the boat and responded.
Three crew on the DZI 18 were injured and hospitalised, boat was severely damaged, but remained afloat. Nordic Italia interrupted voyage and returned to Swinoujscie, where she was anchored.
