Public service strikes to bring UK to standstill on February 1
Date:2023-01-30 Readers:
UNIONS representing staff in the NHS, railways, education, and civil service discussed plans for a national day of action on February 1, reports Daily Telegraph.

The biggest strike disruption is set to hit on February 1 after train drivers announced a walkout on the same day as teachers and civil servants.

Bosses at the Trades Union Congress (TUC) highlighted the date for coordinated national action to show their anger at the government's plans to introduce minimum service levels across key public sectors.

Train drivers voted to begin fresh strikes on February 1, extending the disruption that has brought issues to commuters in recent months.

The Aslef union announced new walkouts after rejecting the latest offer of a pay deal from the Rail Delivery Group.

Recently, the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) declared its train driver members at 14 rail operators will strike on February.
