DOCKERS and employers at Los Angeles and Long Beach ports have reached agreement on manning of non-automated terminals, informed sources have told New York's Journal of Commerce.
The employers of the Pacific Maritime Association (PMA), which represents terminal operators and shipping lines, declined comment.
Coastwide negotiations between the PMA and the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) in San Francisco will now turn to wages and pensions. West coast labour contract negotiations began a year ago.
