Yang Ming joins buying spree for new container vessels
Date:2023-05-29 Readers:
TAIWANESE container shipping company based in Keelung, Taiwan, Yang Ming has signed contracts for five 15,000 TEU LNG dual-fuel ships at HD Hyundai, the yard formerly known as Hyundai Heavy Industries in South Korea.

The contract signing comes after lengthy discussions and competition from Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, according to Maersk Broker, according to Singapore's Splash 247 .

Yang Ming, the ninth largest carrier in the world, had stood out among the top 10 carriers prior to this order for being the only liner without any ships on order.

Meanwhile, details of who has won the tender from another Taiwanese carrier, Evergreen, for a massive series of twenty-four 16,000 TEU ships are expected to be revealed soon.
