DREWRY's composite index experienced a 3.5 per cent decline, reaching US$1,768.33 per FEU, reports Netherlands Fresh Plaza.
This reflects a significant 70.5 per cent drop compared to the corresponding week from the previous year.
The current Drewry WCI composite index value of $1,768.33 for an FEU stands 83 per cent below the peak of $10,377 achieved in September 2021.
Moreover, it is 34 per cent lower than the 10-year average of $2,682, suggesting a return to more typical pricing.
However, it remains an elevated 24 per cent compared to the average rate of $1,420 seen in 2019 before the Covid crisis.
For the year-to-date period, the average composite index rests at $1,772 per FEU, which is $910 lower than the aforementioned 10-year average of $2,682.
