COSCO Shipping Ports Limited, China's global port operator, has posted a 15.4 per cent year-on-year first half net profit decline drawn on revenues of US$688.9 million, down 2.2 per cent.
During this period, the total throughput of terminals in China increased 2.4 per cent year on year to 48,703,766 TEU, constituting 75.4 per cent of the group's total throughput.
Throughput of terminals in China also saw a 1.8 per cent year-on-year increase, totaling 14,519,336 TEU (compared to 14,259,249 TEU in 1H2022), accounting for 70 per cent of the group's throughput.
Furthermore, the Bohai Rim region experienced significant growth, with its total throughput increasing 8.4 per cent year-on-year to 22,515,008 TEU (compared to 20,767,708 TEU in 1H2022), making up 34.9 per cent of the Group's total throughput.
Throughput in the Bohai Rim region also grew 5.1 per cent year on year, amounting to 6,105,704 TEU (compared to 5,809,679 TEU in 1H2022), constituting 29.4 per cent of the group's volume.
Dalian Container Terminal Co Ltd experienced remarkable growth in total throughput, witnessing a 20.6 per cent year-on-year increase to 2,255,129 TEU.
This growth was attributed to the expansion of new shipping routes.
