DREWRY's assessment reports a 1.6 per cent decrease in the composite index, bringing it down to US$1,739.59, reports Netherland's Fresh Plaza.
This figure represents a significant decline of 69.3 per cent compared to the same week in the previous year.
The current Drewry WCI composite index of $1,739.59 per FEU is strikingly lower, standing at 83 per cent below the peak value of $10,377 observed in September 2021.
It also marks a 35 per cent reduction from the 10-year average of $2,682, indicating a return to more typical pricing levels.
However, it is noteworthy that this figure remains 22 per cent higher than the average rates seen in 2019, before the onset of the Covid crisis, which stood at $1,420.
For the year-to-date, the average composite index sits at $1,771 per FEU.
This is notably $910 lower than the aforementioned 10-year average of $2,682, underscoring the ongoing adjustments in pricing trends.
