Regional Container Lines adds King Abdulaziz Port to its service
Date:2023-09-14 Readers:
THE Saudi Ports Authority, known as Mawani, has made a significant announcement regarding the King Abdulaziz Port's inclusion in the RCL Gulf ASEAN (RGA) cargo service, operated by the Thailand-based shipping company Regional Container Lines, reports St Petersburg?™s PortNews.

Starting on September 5, the enhanced service establishes a direct connection between the port in Dammam and key hubs across Southeast Asia, India, and the Middle East.

These hubs include Cai Mep, Laem Chabang, Port Klang, Nhava Sheva, Jebel Ali, and Sohar, all serviced by a single vessel.

This new maritime link is expected to elevate the stature of the Arabian Gulf port, solidifying its role as a prominent regional trade gateway.

The port boasts top-notch facilities, infrastructure, and exceptional levels of productivity and efficiency, which contributed to its remarkable achievement of handling 211,202 TEU in July.

Mawani's ongoing efforts to attract global shipping companies to Saudi Arabia's shores have been instrumental in the country's strong performance, earning it a score of 76.16 points and a 16th place ranking in the UNCTAD's Liner Shipping Connectivity Index (LSCI).

This accomplishment aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 goals, aiming to position the country as a global logistics destination.
