Recently, Maersk announced that it will launch a new trans-Pacific route TP20.
It is reported that Maersk once suspended the TP20 route due to the expected decrease in transportation demand in the US market. This time, a brand-new TP20 route was opened, and the affiliated ports were upgraded.

Specifically, from mid-April, TP20 will provide transportation services between Greater China and ports such as Newark, Baltimore and Houston in the United States. Maersk said that as an independent airline, TP20 will provide a stable weekly service.
According to reports, the TP20 route will make its maiden voyage from Qingdao on April 21st, calling at Qingdao, Shanghai, Yantian, Newark, Baltimore and Houston.
Maersk stressed that the company is still committed to providing shipping services on the east coast of Asia-the United States, covering TP11, TP12, TP16, TP17, TP18, TP88 and TP20 routes.
Recently, the import demand of the United States has shown a surge trend. In February, the container throughput of Los Angeles Port reached 781,000 TEU, a year-on-year increase of 60.2%. The container throughput of Long Beach Port in February also reached 674,000 TEU, up 24.1% year-on-year.
This has also attracted many shipping companies to open new routes or resume routes that have been suspended.
In addition to Maersk, in order to meet THE transportation demand of the American market, The Alliance recently decided to resume the two trans-Pacific routes EC4/SUEZ1 and PN3 that were suspended before.
In addition, in February this year, ONE, a member of THE Alliance, and Wanhai Shipping jointly launched Asia Pacific 1(AP1), an Asia-US-West route.
