On the morning of 18th April, National Energy Group Shipping Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as "National Energy Shipping") held a launching ceremony for the first fabricated 85,000-tonne dry bulk carrier of "Sea Whale" type (H3028G) ordered by Huangpu Wenchong Shipyard of China Shipbuilding Group, marking the successful completion of the main structure of the vessel and entering the delivery stage, and also indicating that the shipping company will add new strength in the group's energy supply. This marks the successful completion of the main structure of the vessel, entering the stage of delivery, and also indicates that the shipping company is about to add a new force in the Group's energy supply.

It is reported that the ship is the first of the two "Sea Whale" type 85,000 tonnes dry bulk carriers ordered by the Huangpu Wenchong Shipyard in September 2022 for the purpose of pushing forward the international layout, expanding the scale of the ocean shipping fleet, and improving the influence of the international shipping market.

With a length of 228.9 metres, a beam of 36.0 metres, a depth of 20.15 metres and a design draught of 11.8 metres, it is a single propeller, low-speed diesel engine (with independent SCR) propelled bulk carrier for ocean-going voyages. It meets the requirements of Tier III emission and CCS class notation "i-Ship (N, M, E, I)", and is equipped with CCS AMPS high voltage shore power system, suitable for loading bulk cargoes. The ship has 6 upper decks and 7 cargo holds, which are of monocoque structure with vertical watertight grooved bulkheads with top and bottom piers; fuel tanks are installed in the top side tanks at the 6th and 7th cargo holds and the side tanks of the engine room, and isolation tanks are installed at the sides; the 4th cargo hold can be used as heavy ballast water tanks; and the 2nd and 6th holds can be used as ballast water tanks for harbour purposes.

The ship started construction on 8 August 2023 and was launched on 18 April 2024, and is expected to be commissioned in June 2024 and delivered in July 2024. The other "sister ship" (H3029G) will commence construction on 19 September 2023, and is expected to be launched on 15 June 2024, with sea trials in July 2024 and official delivery in September 2024. By that time, the fleet of international ocean-going vessels of Guoneng Shipping will reach 10 vessels of 780,000 DWT.
