CYPRIOT investment company Schoeller Holdings, with majority holdings in various private companies engaged in maritime activities, has ordered two 32,000 dwt heavylift multi-purpose vessels (MPVs) from the CSSC-affiliated Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding.
The 32,000 dwt heavylift MPV duo will be the largest tonnage built by the shipbuilder at present. The vessels will be 179.9 metres long, and thirty metres wide with a draft of 15.5 metres as well as have three heavy cranes of 350 tonnes, which can reach 700 tonnes in tandem.
The deck space and capacity are more optimized, in line with the concept of green shipping construction and better cost performance. On the same day, Schoeller Holdings named its 32,000 dwt heavy-lift MPV AAL Limasol, reports Singapore's Splash 247.
Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding and Schoeller Holdings have been cooperating since 2008. The Chinese shipyard built a large number of vessels including 1,700 TEU, 1,900 TEU, 2,700 TEU, and 2,800 TEU container ships and 32,000 dwt heavy lift vessels, totalling nearly thirty vessels.
