Maersk, Duffy, Hapag-Lloyd all announce fare increases on this route

Three liner companies have announced the collection of peak season surcharge (PSS) on Asia-Africa routes.

Recently, a number of liner companies, including Maersk, Duffy and Hapag-Lloyd, have adjusted the peak season surcharges (PSS) on Asia-Africa routes.

Maersk raised the PSS from China to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, with the rate of USD400/TEU and USD800/FEU, effective from 6 May.


Maersk related announcement

Duffy will adjust PSS from Asia to East Africa, South Africa, West Africa, as follows.

Far East (Mainland China, Hong Kong, China) to South Africa ports, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania for USD300/TEU, USD300/FEU, Far East (Mainland China, Hong Kong, China) to Mombasa, Kenya for USD400/TEU, USD600/FEU, effective from 4 May.


Duffy's related announcement


Far East (Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Macau, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Singapore, Japan, East Timor, Myanmar, Brunei, Mongolia, Vietnam) to South Africa ports, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Mombasa, Kenya, the tariffs will be USD500/TEU, USD500/FEU, effective from 4 May.


Duffy's related announcements

Far East (Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Macau, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Singapore, Japan, East Timor, Myanmar, Brunei, Mongolia, Vietnam) to Port Louis, Mauritius, Tamatave, Madagascar, Reunion Island (Pointe des Galets), Male, Maldives, Mogadishu, Somalia, Tanga, Tanzania and Zanzibar, Tanzania at US$300/TEU and US$600/FEU, effective from 15 May.

Duffy's announcement

In addition, for dry containers from Southeast Asia to North West Africa (Liberia, Senegal, Mauritania, Gambia, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Guinea Bissau, Cape Verde, Sao Tome and Principe), a PSS of USD300/TEU will be charged, effective from 15 May.

Duffy's announcement

Hapag-Lloyd, on the other hand, will charge US$600/TEU PSS on Asia-Northwest Africa routes, US$250/TEU on Asia to Mombasa (Kenya), US$450/TEU on Asia to Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), US$500/TEU on Asia to West Africa and US$500/TEU on Asia to Southwest Africa effective from 16 May.
