Maersk announces resumption of Baltimore bookings
Date:2024-05-21 Readers:
Asia to Baltimore shipments have re-opened for booking
But subject to the availability of space
learnt:Recently, Maersk issued an announcement that it has resumed new bookings at the Port of Baltimore in the U.S. East.

Maersk said it plans to resume bookings from the Port of Baltimore on upcoming sailings as it continues its efforts to reopen the port to direct service.
Bookings are open for the following sailings.

Maersk noted that bookings for TP12's transatlantic services and Baltimore exports have not yet reopened. "We will reopen them as soon as we have more information on the status of the shipping lanes of the vessels deployed on these services," the company said.

Bookings for cargoes from Asia to Baltimore have been reopened, subject to space availability, and AGAS and AMEX are now open for bookings as these vessels have access to the Fort mhenry Limited Passage, which is currently unavailable to vessels on trans-Pacific or trans-Atlantic services.

Maersk noted that the situation in the port of Baltimore remains uncertain and that bookings are subject to space availability. In a statement, the liner operator said: "Our ability to call at Baltimore will ultimately depend on the timing of salvage as well as the port's official opening of the harbour or the closure of a fourth alternative passageway."

Meanwhile, Maersk added that if conditions do not allow large vessels to call at Baltimore, the vessels may be diverted to another port on the US East Coast.
