Japanese shipowner Kasuga Kaiun has placed its third order with a Chinese shipyard this year, placing an order with Jiangmen Nanyang Shipbuilding for the construction of two 40,500 dwt bulk carriers to be delivered in June and July 2026.

This is the first time for Kasuga Marine to cooperate with Jiangmen Nanyang Shipbuilding in shipbuilding. In January this year, Kasuga Marine signed a contract with New Dayang Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of Sumida Shipbuilding, for the construction of two Crown 63 PLUS bulk carriers. This order is of great significance to Xindayang Shipbuilding, which has opened the prelude to Sumida Shipbuilding's entry into the Japanese shipbuilding market. in April, Kasuga Marine ordered a third vessel of the same type from Xindayang Shipbuilding.
