The chart of shipping companies adding capacity is out! Who has added the most capacity?

Alphaliner's latest statistics show that, as of June 7, the global container liner companies newly ordered a total of 574 ships, newly ordered capacity up to 5.734 million TEU!

It is worth noting that only the world's top ten shipping companies new booking capacity has been as high as 5.15 million TEU, in the global new booking capacity in the total accounted for as high as 89.9%, of which, Mediterranean Shipping MSC and the French Duffy CMA two major shipping giants of the new booking capacity, are more than 1 million TEU.

As the world's largest shipping company Mediterranean Shipping MSC, also ranked first on the list of newly ordered capacity, has been purchased or ordered to build the number of new container ships up to 106, the new total capacity of more than 1,268,000 TEU, the new capacity of more than 20% of the existing capacity!

Second is the French Duffy, has purchased or ordered 87 new container ships, the total new capacity of about 1.03 million TEU, the new capacity accounted for about its existing capacity of nearly 30%.

Ranked third is Evergreen Marine, has determined the number of new orders for 67 new container ships, new total capacity of about 730,000 TEU, new capacity close to half of the existing capacity!
