Top-level Round-table Forum on International Port Development 2010---Strategic Transformation in Future China Port Development is scheduled to take place in Shanghai, China on December 8, 2010. Shanghai Maritime University and World Maritime University, as the sponsors, and Shanghai International Shipping Institute, as the organizer, request the pleasure of your presence.
Shipping industry and port worldwide experienced great hardship in 2008 and 2009 when the world economy and trade stagnated because of global financial crisis, bringing great challenge to the industry. Fierce competition makes it necessary for the industry to accelerate strategic adjustment and scientific orientation, getting prepared for the sustainable development in the post-financial crisis era.
The forum will be dedicated to the strategic transformation in future International port development from brand-new perspectives. Subjects to be discussed also include the experience of China’s rapidly progressing port in operation management and port modernization, the modes taken and to be taken towards internationalization, as well as strategies to perfect harbor’s function as part of logistics operation during the period when China is forging modern ports.
The participants will include the highest decision and strategy-makers in larger port authorities from Chinese Mainland and those from Hong Kong and Singapore, as well as world-famous scholars, elites and experts in the field.
