COSCO Shipping Line is expanding its service offerings on the fast-growing trade between China and Mexico.
Its new Far East-Mexico service from the northeast launched from the Chinese port of Dalian with joint operation of OOCL.
Deploying eight containerships from 6,000 TEU to 8,000 TEU on weekly basis, the service will provide an express shipping channel connecting Dalian with major ports of Mexico, reports UK's Seatrade Maritime News.
It is the fourth foreign-trading container services launched by Liaoning Port Group, the operator of Dalian port, which will effectively reduce logistic costs and transit time, as well as enhance economic & trading cooperation between northeast China and Central and South America.
"Opening up of this Mexico service will offer a stable logistics option to chemical products, automobile parts, equipment and other traditional cargo resources," said, Li Xiaoguang, general manager of Dalian Container Terminal, Liaoning Port Group.
