On August 13, 2024, accompanied by the sound of whistles, China Merchants Ro-Ro's Ro-Ro ship “Changdalong”, which is a subsidiary of China Merchants Shipping Company, departed from Shenzhen Dachanwan Terminal with 870 Chinese exported automobiles, and traveled to the port of Jebel Ali of the United Arab Emirates, which marked the successful inauguration of the China Merchants Ro-Ro's “Dachanwan - Middle East” automobile ro-ro-ro foreign trade route. Middle East” ro-ro automobile foreign trade route successfully made its maiden voyage. This is another new channel for automobile export opened by CMR following the opening of the automobile export route of Shenzhen-Shantou Xiaomo Port, which is also a new initiative of CMR fleet to help the development of ports in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
This batch of brand new parallel export automobiles departed from Da Chan Bay Terminal, which is located in the center of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area, and sailed directly to Jabaili Ali Port, which is located in the Middle East region, with a short voyage and fast time limit, which can meet the demand for large-volume automobile export, and opened up a new way of high efficiency, economy, and safety of going out to the sea in Shenzhen, which helps to accelerate China's automobile export pace.
At present, China Merchants Ro-Ro has opened international Ro-Ro routes from China to the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Brazil, Mexico and other regions, among which the “China - Middle East” route was opened the earliest, and has berthing at Dammam/Jeddah port in Saudi Arabia, Jebel Ali/Harifa port in the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait port, Eilat port in Israel and other ports.
