Cyan Renewables teams with Blue Water Shipping on Asia Pacific offshore wind logistics
Date:2024-10-11 Readers:

Singapore-based offshore wind vessels player Cyan Renewables has partnered up with the Singapore unit of Danish logistics group Blue Water Shipping to provide logistics solutions for the offshore wind sector in Asia Pacific.

A memorandum of understanding between the two companies includes a wide range of logistical services and infrastructure to facilitate the transportation of offshore wind components via the ocean/road, route survey, port marshalling yard and more.

The consortium partners said they will leverage their combined expertise and resources towards their goal and seek opportunities to establish marshalling ports for the burgeoning offshore wind industry in the region.

Operating at the port of Esbjerg on 2m sq m and handling over 10,000 wind components, Blue Water is Denmark’s largest wind terminal operator.

“Through this partnership, we aim to address critical logistical challenges and contribute to the sustainable growth of the offshore wind industry, ultimately advancing the region’s renewable energy transition,” said Jason Goh, regional managing director, Asia at Blue Water Shipping.

Launched in September 2022, fast-expanding Cyan, part of Seraya Partners, has made several investments in the offshore vessels segment including, newbuilds and Australian OSV player MMA Offshore. Partnerships have also been formed with the likes of offshore robotic ship operator Ocean Infinity to provide services for offshore wind projects in the Asia Pacific region.

“By merging our expertise and resources in offshore wind, we can streamline the supply chain and ensure that the supply of critical components and services is handled efficiently, paving the way for the region’s renewable energy expansion,” said Lee Keng Lin, CEO of Cyan Renewables.
