New grain terminal to be built at Poland's Port of Gdansk
Date:2024-12-06 Readers:
POLISH Prime Minister Donald Tusk has announced plans for the government to construct a new grain terminal at the Port of Gdansk, with completion targeted for 2026.

Speaking at a press briefing, Mr Tusk said: "The most important thing is that the Polish state has its own grain terminal, and this will allow for a fully controlled grain policy in crises. By 2026, we will be ready with the investment, which will allow us to feel more secure in that (grain policy - PAP) area."

Arkadiusz Marchewka, Poland's Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, announced that the project will require an estimated investment of PLN500 million (US$120 million).

The facility is expected to achieve an operational capacity of 2 million tonnes by 2026, with plans to increase output to 3 million tonnes in the following years, according to Greece's Container News.
