On January 1, 2025, with the successful loading of the last container of the "Orient Australia", the average single-machine operating efficiency of the bridge crane of the automated terminal of Qingdao Port, Shandong Port, reached 60.9 natural boxes/hour, breaking the world record of automated container terminal loading and unloading efficiency for the 12th time, playing the opening movement of the new year of inspiring progress. This is the third time that the automated terminal has broken the world record since 2024, which fully confirms the surging momentum of Qingdao Port to vigorously develop new quality productivity and promote the research and development and application of national production and fully independent technology, and also injects strong confidence in continuously promoting high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and helping China's ports to transform and upgrade and improve quality and efficiency.
Qingdao Port of Shandong Port has always accelerated the cultivation and development of new quality productivity and continuously created a new high ground with the most core competitive advantages. In 2024, with the commissioning of the country's first domestically produced fully autonomous automated terminal, Qingdao Port continued to expand the influence of domestically produced fully autonomous technologies, independently developed domestically produced fully autonomous terminal intelligent management and control system (A-TOS), horizontal transportation intelligent system (A-ECS), and successfully completed the iteration and upgrade of the new generation of equipment intelligent control system, innovated seven major technologies such as double-hoisting automatic loading, automatic bridge crane double trolley re-entry and re-exit, and realized the nationalization from software to hardware, from equipment to system.
With the efficient coordination of the terminal's intelligent system and automated operating equipment, the loading and unloading efficiency of Qingdao Port's automated terminal has repeatedly set new highs, breaking the world record for loading and unloading efficiency three times in 367 days. The container throughput increased by 11.1% year-on-year, and the comprehensive berth efficiency increased by 6.3% year-on-year. The terminal's performance indicators were all positive.
