Damco appointed as Official Logistics Partner for Rainforest Challenge
Date:2010-12-08 Readers:

Damco has been appointed as the Official Logistics Partner for Rainforest Challenge 2010, a premier adventure event for 4x4 vehicles, in Malaysia.
Damco will provide the complete range of freight forwarding, transportation, customs clearance and documentation services from origins around the world to Malaysia for all participants. It will have to work around a tight deadline as participants can still register two weeks before the event on 4 December 2010. Already, Damco will manage the logistics for 22 4x4 vehicles from various countries, including Italy, Philippines, Russia, Singapore and Vietnam.
“We are very pleased to support the participants of the Rainforest Challenge. This adventure event shares the same traits as Damco – success is derived from passion, teamwork, adaptability and reliability. As a leading global logistics provider, Damco’s passion for customers ensures that we deliver seamless, end-to-end logistics solutions wherever and whenever our customer need,” said Tony Hotine, Chief Executive Officer for Damco in Asia Pacific.
“With Damco onboard with us in the Rainforest Challenge 2010, I am assured that all the arrangements for the foreign teams’ vehicles will be taken care of and I can concentrate on other pressing matters. The Damco team is very professional. Although the logistics tasks are heavy-duty and requires meticulous planning and handling, I told the foreign teams that they need not have to worry about the delivery of their 4x4 trucks to Malaysia with Damco,” said Luis J. A. Wee, Founder and Event Director of the Rainforest Challenge.
The Rainforest Challenge is held from 4 to 13 December 2010, where 4x4 vehicles will flag off from Kota Iskandar, Nusajaya and then proceed to the Prologue Special Stages at Sutera Mall for the first day’s action for spectators. From there, the event proper will enter the jungle trails of Segamat, Muar, Keluang, Mersing and finally end in Johor Bahru for the prize awards.
