Date:2025-02-21 Readers:

AQABA Container Terminal (ACT) has joined the Gemini Cooperation, a global maritime service network formed by Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd, reports Jordan Times.

This move strengthens Jordan's position in international trade, offering access to 57 specialised maritime services across seven key trade routes.

ACT CEO Harold Nijhoff described the partnership as a milestone to enhance port capacity and promote Jordan as a regional logistics hub.

The Gemini network, supported by 340 vessels with a combined capacity of 3.7 million TEU, aims to improve supply chain efficiency and sustainability, targeting a 30 per cent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and net zero emissions by 2045.
