TRELLEBORG Marine and Infrastructure has secured a contract to install its advanced AutoMoor system at a major container terminal in China - marking the first deployment of automated mooring technology at a Chinese port, reports London's Port Technology International.
The AutoMoor system will be integrated into the terminal's existing infrastructure, which is built to accommodate the latest generation of ultra-large container vessels.
Its implementation is expected to enhance operational performance by improving vessel stability, increasing efficiency, and reducing turnaround times.
The system also supports the terminal's sustainability objectives by helping to cut vessel emissions during mooring operations.
Additionally, AutoMoor will expand the berth's capacity to efficiently handle 400-metre-long MegaMax containerships, reinforcing the terminal's position as a leader in next-generation maritime operations.
