DHL kicks off Toronto-Singapore less-than-container-load service
Date:2011-12-07 Readers:

PaDHL has commenced a direct less-than-container-load (LCL) service from Toronto to Singapore.

The new service, operated by Danmar Lines, will move freight from the port of Halifax on the east coast of Canada, and is expected to reduce the overall transit time between Canada and Singapore by five days to 32 days.

"Increasingly, the Asian market has grown in importance to Canadian small and medium businesses. The port of Halifax, the first gateway to North America's main markets, recognises the importance of the Asian market and is a full day closer to South East Asia than other Canadian east coast ports," said Marc Meier, senior vice president ocean freight, head of Global LCL.
