Date:2025-05-23 Readers:

THE Port of Tianjin aims to increase its container throughput from 23 million TEU in 2024 to 35 million TEU in 2035, representing its commitment to be a world-class shipping hub, reports the UK's Seatrade Maritime News.

Tianjin port intends to expand its large vessel handing capacity, strengthen its pivotal role in maritime trade, support the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and promote the construction of China's Belt and Road Initiative.

To further upgrade port infrastructure, Tianjin port will construct five navigation channels, which will be able to accommodate 300,000 tonnes-class vessels.

Tianjin port, operating the world's first intelligent zero-carbon terminal, is a pioneer in smart port development.

The port is called by some 147 container services, connecting with more than 500 ports in over 180 countries and regions around the world.
