Date:2025-05-29 Readers:
SOUTH Korea's largest shipping company HMM is to launch a new container service connecting Northern China and Indonesia starting June.

The service, jointly operated with Singapore-based shipping companies Pacific International Line (PIL) and X-PRESS FEEDER, will make its first departure from Tianjin, China on June 19.

Five container ships with capacities of 4,000 to 5,000 TEU will be deployed with a total round trip taking 35 days, according to BusinessKorea.

The port rotation will be Tianjin, Qingdao, Xiamen, Singapore, Jakarta, Surabaya, Singapore and returning Tianjin.

Through this new service, HMM plans to strengthen its competitiveness on Indonesian routes and create synergies by connecting with trans-Pacific and European routes.

An HMM official stated said "in addition to our existing focus on trans-oceanic routes, we will continue to strengthen new networks in Africa, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean".
