MPCC spends US$228m on four 4,500 TEUers in China
Date:2025-07-23 Readers:
NORWAY's Oslo-listed container tonnage provider MPC Container Ships (MPCC) has placed a US$228 million order for four 4,500 TEU container vessels at China's Taizhou Sanfu Ship Engineering with secured three-year charters.

The company is also divesting some older tonnage while expanding its financing platform with new debt facilities totalling over $100 million, reports Singapore's Splash 247.

The ships, which will deliver in 2027, will generate around $140 million in revenue from their initial three-year charters, the company said in a release.

The tonnage provider revealed it is letting go of three older 1,300 TEU ships for $31.5 million with existing charters attached.

"Our ongoing fleet renewal strategy is further reinforced by these measures," said CEO Constantin Baack.
