GREECE's Capital Maritime has firmed up an order for two more LNG dual-fuel 2,800 TEU containerships at HD Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in South Korea, bringing its total number of newbuildings to 10.
The deal is valued at around US$113 million, with deliveries expected in July and September 2027, writes Singapore's Splash 247.
The latest order is part of a broader series of vessels Capital Maritime is securing with the South Korean shipyard.
HD Hyundai Mipo has been a significant partner for Capital Maritime, which has previously secured a mix of 1,800 TEU and 2,800 TEU vessels from the yard priced at around $45 million and $55 million per ship, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Evangelos Marinakis-led company also recently lifted options for a pair of 8,800 TEU newbuildings at HD Hyundai Samho, scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2028 and priced at about $140 million.
