Jiangsu Yangzi Xinfu Shipbuilding has delivered the final vessel in a 12-ship LNG dual-fuel series for Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), reports Singapore's Manifold Times.
The 12th vessel, MSC Saudi Arabia, was handed over on December 27 and set sail the same day. Construction began in December 2024, with dry dock entry in May 2025, launch in October and sea trials completed in December.
A naming ceremony was held on December 18, followed by the signing of delivery documents on December 22 by CH Giuseppe Gargiulo, MSC's head of newbuilding for China, and Mr Yang Xueyan of Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group.
The series forms part of a wider collaboration between MSC and Yangzijiang, which has seen more than 30 single and dual-fuel containership projects completed, including vessels of 12,200 TEU, 14,000 TEU, 16,000 TEU and 24,000 TEU.
Yangzijiang said the projects have strengthened its expertise in large-scale containership construction and enhanced its technological reserves for green and intelligent vessels.
