Logistics giant DHL has started direct less-than-container-load (LCL) services from Dalian and Shanghai to Hamburg.

Germany is China's largest trade partner in the European Union with two-way trade totalling US$128.56 billion in 2009.

China has become the top importer of German goods and the eighth largest exporter to Germany.
