TNT Express offers import system online
Date:2010-03-18 Readers:

TNT Express launches online Express Import system to allow its customers to order the collection of import shipments from around 170 countries with quotations and billing in their local currency to better control shipping costs.

TNT's system enhances its current Express Import services and is available to all customers regardless the type or size of their business, and whether they are sourcing finished goods or spare parts from multiple suppliers around the world.

TNT Singapore managing director Damien Tan said in a statement that the tool enhances the TNT Express service that transports several million import consignments every year. "Import activity contributes to almost 50 per cent of total trade in Singapore. With a few clicks of the button, customers can conveniently arrange for the import of their goods from almost 200 countries."

The software allows the importing customer to enter orders online and connects to the sender via email with a unique option to request a quotation before the booking is completed. This means customers can effectively decide when their import shipment will arrive and at what cost. TNT ships the goods via its ground or air network, depending on the customer's budget and timeline requirements. Express Import is available with any of TNT's core delivery services: 0900 hrs Express, 1000 hrs Express and 1200 hrs Express, Express and Economy Express.

It also features: an address book, which eliminates the need to retype details of recurring orders; repeat order function that lets the customer repeat orders in second and an overview of all import orders issued and their current status.

The system is available in several languages, including English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
