Air India launch air cargo and repair arms

JMUMBAI-based Air India is to launch three separate businesses, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and engineering, taken from its air cargo unit, the company announced.
The national flag carrier has made a strategic alliance with Sharjah UAE-based Aerostar Asset Management for marketing its engine repair maintenance services and will repair Boeing and Airbus jet engines, reports AirCargo Asia-Pacific.
The move follows its decision to cut its all-economy passenger carrier and focus on its low-cost Air India Express.
