Date:2010-01-08 Readers:

SMALL Royal Air Cargo Learjet has crashed in a forest near Chicago, reportedly killing the two crewmen aboard

WXYZ's Action News said a pilot and co-pilot were on board at the time of the crash. There were no distress calls and it is believed the plane took off from Oakland County International Airport in Pontiac. Employees at Royal Air Cargo head office in Waterford, Michigan, have not commented.

The crash occurred shortly after the aircraft was cleared for landing and was making its approach at Chicago's Executive Airport when it went down near Wheeling, Illinois.

Airport spokeswoman Laura Witlox said the plane went down around 2pm local time and the Prospect Heights Fire Department were at the scene.
