Yemen bans import of used cars: APL
Date:2010-01-08 Readers:

THE container shipping arm of Singapore's Neptune orient Lines (NOL) has announced in a customer advisory published on its website that the import of used cars which have previously been damaged or involved in any traffic accidents will be not permitted in the Republic of Yemen from the first of the years.

"Strict enforcement by local authorities is expected," APL said in a statement.

"Failure to comply may result in the cargo being re-exported to origin. Penalties may also be imposed on both the shipper and carrier. Therefore, please ensure that your shipment of used cars into Yemen comply with the above regulation to avoid incurring penalties," the carrier added.
