Recently, Sea Sonic Europe decided in favour of NYK Logistics as its logistics service provider for sea freight, European Distribution Centre (EDC) activities and return logistics, resulting in the start-up of an operation in Ridderkerk. At Ridderkerk, the NYK Logistics warehouse will act as Sea Sonic’s EDC. Already, less than a week after the agreement, the first goods started to arrive at the NYK Logistics warehouse and the NYK customer service department received its first outbound orders.
NYK Logistics will be handling Sea Sonic’s power supplies, which can be found in the back of almost every computer, converting 230 volt to the required 12 volt. Today, NYK Logistics has successfully implemented the entire EDC operation and is in discussion with Sea Sonic to extend the delivered services. As a first step, NYK
Logistics is implementing a reverse logistics operation whereby all defect power supplies are received from a European level and a replacement unit is sent directly to the end-user.
