The Baltic States may build one single port terminal for importing liquefied natural gas (LNG), said Lithuania's Deputy Minister of Energy, Romas Sveidas. He said the Baltic States would begin negotiations about building an LNG terminal in 2010, Verslo Zinios reported.
Earlier, Heinz Hilbrecht, director of the European Commission's energy department, said the Baltic States needed just one large gas terminal. The Commission will grant LTL 732,000 (EUR 212,000) for a feasibility study on building a gas terminal in Lithuania, according to Logistics Finland.
