THE ports of China handled 9.2 million TEU in April, a drop of 13.4 per cent over the same month last year, but maintained the same throughput level as March did, Xinhua reported.

Aggregate throughput tonnage of these port dropped 1.9 per cent to 500 million tonnes. Average daily throughput in this month climbed 3.2 per cent compared to March volumes.

Domestic trade cargo went slightly up by 0.1 per cent year on year to 340 million tonnes. Foreign trade cargo dropped six per cent to 160 million tonnes.
