Rhenus Logistics Limited in England moved into newly constructed cross-dock warehouses in Cannock and the northern English city of Bradford in May. As the previous capacity at the facilities at these locations was no longer adequate, the company had been looking for new real estate in the vicinity.
The site in Bradford, which the company moved to on 11 May, has a total area measuring more than 18,000 m2. The warehouse itself measures almost 5,000 m2 and has 32 loading doors and docks. Additional loading bays provide space for a further 30 vehicles. Rhenus began operating the cross-docking warehouse in Cannock on 18 May. The warehouse there measures 6,500 m2 and has 30 loading doors. Both facilities also have large, modern office accommodation and loading ramps on both sides of the buildings, which enable the company to transship goods fast.
Rhenus is able to provide all the Freight Logistics business area services at both locations using the same experienced personnel as at the previous sites: These services range from sea and air freight to international overland traffic, including part and complete loads, hazardous goods and project loads, and even express deliveries. This applies to every type of goods with the exception of livestock and fresh foods.
“We can handle our customers’ goods faster and more efficiently at the two new facilities,” said David Williams, Managing Director of Rhenus Logistics Limited. “The additional warehouse space now enables us to offer a wider range of value added services.”Rhenus Logistics Limited in England not only operates the hubs in Bradford and Cannock, but also facilities in Manchester and Basildon and has offices in Sheffield, Newton Aycliffe, Leighton Buzzard, Swindon, Lincoln and Hull. The company can handle shipments around the globe through these locations using the Rhenus network and international partners.
