Thailand to add two more rail lines

Thailand is planning to add two more rail lines to its ongoing ten-rail line project around the capital city of Bangkok.

 

The proposed lines are the 29.9km Pak Kret-Lak Si-Min Buri Pink Line and the 32km Bang Bamru-Bang Kapi-Min Buri orange Line.

 

The construction of the Pink Line will cost THB31bn and the orange Line will cost THB118bn, taking the overall cost for the 12 lines to THB838bn.

 

According to Railway Technology, the two lines are expected to be built by 2019. The total 12-line network may take 20 more years to complete.
